Updating an existing release (post delivery)

You have delivered your release in Make Waves, but now there's something you want to update. No problem, you can still make certain changes and send an update to all stores after you have already delivered a release. We'll show you how to do that in just a few easy steps.

You've done it, you've set up your release, everything has been uploaded and you have filled everything in, you press deliver and oh-oh. You realise you've uploaded "version5ofyourartwork.jpg" and not "finalfinalversionofyourartwork.jpg". What to do? No problem, you can still update certain fields and then send an update to all stores to reflect these changes, you don't have to create a whole new product.

Reopen your release for editing

Click on the release in your catalogue. Then, click on the three dots in the top right corner and select 'Edit'.

Edit

What you can and cannot update

You can then go in and make the required changes. Please note there are certaing things you cannot update:

  • You can't add new tracks, after you have already delivered your release.
  • You can't change the tracklist order, after you have already delivered your release.
  • You can't update the UPC / barcode or the track ISRCs, if you have filled this in yourself.

If you want to update any of the above, please create a brand new product and then afterwards trigger a takedown / delete for the 'incorrect' product.

Anything else can still be updated: the artwork file, audio file, the title, updating the artist roles, adding lyrics, adding contributor or publisher information, etc.

Once you've made the necessary changes, make sure to save your changes.

Save changes

You will then see the following pop-up:

Are you ready to redeliver your release?

If you select "Yes, I'm sure", you can then proceed with sending a new delivery. This means the update gets sent to all the stores and the changes will be reflected as soon as possible (max 5 business days).

If you have more questions about this, feel free to reach out to support@makewaves.fm.
